Right then! We're in business! I've had our info from Yorkshare welcoming us to the service. In case I've not mentioned it, you can each have a personal dealing account with them without having to pay the usual fee (to set it up). I expect they will send details on this to you, if not drop me a line and I'll give you the details. I've called them for details on standing orders but haven't had anything back yet.

I've called the inland revenue who sent me a leaflet, I've replied asking for more info.

I'll write to Proshare now as well.

I would like to suggest that we take a look at Boots the chemist as our first target. Let's do some more research and see if they're a good bet. They're a well established name, should profit from the baby boom next year and from the increasing number of people with hayfever this year and the annual flu epidemic in the winter - the demand for their products must be pretty constant. I believe their price has just risen a little on results / a statement from the chairman. Here follows a load of web links and sources, you don't have to look at all of them, but it would be good if everyone could take a quick look and see which ones they like, then we can divide up the research between us. You've also got something to go looking for to get to know the sites. Also, I thought different people could monitor different sources and bring back articles / news / suggestions to the group from each. Indeed, I would hope to see this forum getting more frequent and detailed responses.

Teletext pages on bbc2 and c4 (particularly weekend) - one for you Si in the absence of a net connection?
Simon, perhaps you could call the line you have in work / update us on your newsletter?
Brad perhaps you could call your broker for their opininon?
Marc, I believe you have a contact who is in the business?

I already get the FT on Saturday, plus the Times on Sunday (and the mirror as well) and read the motely fool site. I think it makes sense to try to split it all up between us? I think it would be a good idea to set a deadline for deciding on whether or not we go for this share, otherwise I can imagine things dragging on for too long. So how about the end of next month just to ease ourselves into it? Also gives us time to get up to speed with all the info available, find a few other potential targets etc.

Looking forward to your comments. James
